Thiago Motta visits the Academy Qatar
Former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta dropped in on the Academy Qatar to the delight of the budding footballers.
It was in Lusail, one of the four Paris Saint-Germain Academy Qatar sites, north of Doha, that Thiago Motta decided to surprise the young players. Each week, more than 300 youngsters enjoy the state of the art facilities that will be used as training pitches for the next FIFA World Cup.
Thiago Motta watched the Academy’s elite teams training as well as the goalkeepers and girl’s teams.
Speaking afterwards he declared his pride at “seeing the club grow with the development of the academies around the world, especially here in Qatar where you can see how passionate the kids are.”
The Paris Saint-Germain Academy Qatar counts more than 1,000 children just over a year after it opened (January 2019) and continues to grow.
